Welcome to your September edition of the SigniFlow newsletter.
As more customer journeys, transactions, and business processes move online, establishing confidence in who is on the other side of the screen has become increasingly important. Effective digital experiences require more than convenience. They need the right layers of identity assurance at the right moments.
This month, we explore effective eKYC for digital onboarding, looking at how organisations can bring together complementary identity and verification checks to support more informed onboarding decisions.
We also unpack how continuous facial recognition supports ongoing identity assurance, exploring the gap between verifying someone at the beginning of a digital interaction and maintaining confidence that the same person remains present as the session continues.
Together, these insights highlight an important shift in digital identity: from simply establishing trust at a single point in time to building stronger identity assurance throughout the digital journey.
Explore this month’s blogs and discover how evolving approaches to identity verification can help organisations create more trusted digital experiences.

SigniFlow’s latest release brings several new features and improvements designed to create a smoother, more flexible user experience. The update includes a new SharePoint plugin that supports multiple configurations, SMS delivery of document links, multiple personal stamp uploads, OTPs via email, and additional data capture options in the new workflow engine. Users can also benefit from improved bulk signing and reporting, increased document upload capacity, enhanced security, and a range of performance updates and bug fixes that make everyday document workflows faster, more efficient, and more reliable.

How Continuous Facial Recognition Supports Ongoing Identity Assurance
Continuous Facial Recognition addresses a simple but important question: is the person who started a digital session still the person using it? An identity check at login can establish who was present at the beginning, but it cannot necessarily show who remains behind the screen as the interaction continues.
Effective eKYC for Digital Onboarding becomes easier to understand when you picture a real application. A person submits their details and identity document from home, but the organisation receiving that application may need more than one answer before deciding whether onboarding can continue.

Effective eKYC for digital onboarding

Meet Ayush Nundlal
Support Engineer
“I’m inspired by growth, new challenges, and the opportunity to keep learning.”

For Ayush, standing still isn’t really an option. He’s driven by growth, new challenges, and the constant opportunity to learn something new. Whether he’s solving a tricky problem at work, pushing his limits in martial arts, or jumping into a gaming session, Ayush enjoys keeping things moving and finding ways to become better than he was yesterday.
As a Support Engineer at SigniFlow, Ayush brings curiosity, determination, and a strong problem-solving mindset to the team. He enjoys getting stuck into challenges, figuring out how things work, and turning problems into opportunities to learn. Every new issue is another chance to sharpen his skills, expand his knowledge, and grow professionally.
And when the workday is over, Ayush certainly knows how to keep himself busy.
Outside of work, Ayush shares his life with his girlfriend, Kiara, his older sister, Ayurna, and Zeus, his energetic Belgian Malinois. With Zeus around, there’s never a shortage of energy or personality at home!
One of Ayush’s biggest passions is martial arts. Karate and MMA are two of his favourite ways to spend his time, combining discipline, competition, and the constant drive to improve. His dedication to karate has taken him far beyond the level of a casual hobby. Ayush has earned South African colours in karate, an achievement that speaks volumes about his commitment, discipline, and competitive spirit.
When he’s not training, there’s a good chance you’ll find him gaming. Gaming gives Ayush another opportunity to switch off, have some fun, and, naturally, compete.
Food-wise, Italian cuisine is high on the list, although it’s hard to beat a medium-rare ribeye with fries. His favourite colour is red, his go-to band is Green Day, and when it comes to comedy, Kevin Hart is a firm favourite.
As for superheroes, things get a little more complicated. Batman or Spider-Man? Ayush isn’t quite ready to pick a winner, and honestly, we can understand why.
Born on 22 April 2004, Ayush brings plenty of energy, curiosity, and competitive spirit to the SigniFlow team. His approach to life is simple: keep learning, keep improving, and don’t be afraid of the next challenge.
He may say he doesn’t have any unusual party tricks, but representing South Africa in karate is a pretty impressive one already.
And finally, if you ever find yourself sharing a meal with Ayush, remember one important rule: Talking with your mouth full is firmly off the table.

As remote transactions become standard practice, organisations are recognising secure digital signatures as more than convenience tools. They are becoming core infrastructure for building and maintaining trust.

The session is still open. Is the verified person still there?
A single identity check at the start of a digital session may not confirm who remains behind the screen throughout the interaction. Continuous Facial Recognition provides an additional identity signal during sensitive digital sessions, helping organisations identify when the verified person may no longer be present and supporting stronger ongoing identity assurance.
Matching a customer’s identity document to their submitted details is an important first step, but effective digital onboarding may require additional checks. SigniFlow’s built-in eKYC module brings together identity document verification, AML checks, and verification against relevant local data sources where available, helping organisations make more informed onboarding decisions.
